This information has been specifically designed to help the patient/parent understand our unique orthodontic practice. Your comfort, satisfaction and well being are our main concerns.  Dr. Nelson has been in private practice in Austin since 1984, with a specialization in orthodontics. Dr. Nelson and his staff operates as a team and we take great pride in each staff members' experience and talents.

Our schedule is designed to help you plan your busy day to ensure that you miss the least amount of work or school. We understand you are busy too! We pride ourselves on staying on schedule and recognize the value of your time. In order to efficiently serve you, we have designed a successful appointment schedule for our patients. The initial longer procedures are scheduled to take place during school or work hours, while the shorter, more routine procedures are scheduled to allow the maximum number of patients to be seen in the early morning or after school. We make every effort to schedule our patients accordingly so that they are not kept waiting.

Adults make up a large percent of our practice. We pride ourselves in catering to proper function and their aesthetic needs. Dr. Nelson offers the latest technology in bracket types which include clear ceramic, mini silver and the newest Invisalign(TM) Orthodontic System.

Dr. Nelson was hand selected to be a test office for Invisalign(TM) before this new technology was publicly available. This makes Dr. Nelson the most experienced Invisalign(TM) care provider in the Austin area.

What Makes Our Office Different

• Our greatest asset is our team. We often receive compliments about our staff and their commitment to quality patient care. We are a team that is highly experienced and committed to your care.
• Dr. Nelson uses mounted study models in treatment planning.  This is a complex step that most orthodontist skip.  If you are seeking multiple opinions this is a question you may want to ask.
• Our office makes use of technology with digital photographs and x-rays.  We also use computers at each treatment unit.  This allows you to see your x-rays and photographs while you are being cared for, you can see the progress at any time.
• Based upon individual needs and diagnostic findings, Dr. Nelson develops a personalized treatment plan for each patient.
• Dr. Nelson has invested considerable time in developing a network of care providers to coordinate all required care, i.e. cosmetic dentistry, periodontal care, restorative dentistry,  pediatric ENT and family dentists and physicians.
